B. V. Raghavendra Rao, an acclaimed violinist & B. Sivaramakrishna Rao, a versatile sitarist together popularly known as Basavaraj Brothers hails from a family of musicians. Basavaraj brothers have established themselves as one of the most popular Indian classical music presenters for their mind captivating jugalbandi performances. They have won the hearts of many listeners globally through their performances and masterclasses in hindustani & carnatic classical music, creative music & collaborative world music.

Both of them were initiated into music at a very early age by their father Late B. Sudarshan Rao, a flautist who was a doyen of South Indian film music. This acclaimed duo having collaborated with many artists nationally & internationally are open for new collaborations to bridge many art forms together & are involved with several such projects presently. Basavaraj Brothers have performed all over India and abroad in many prestigious music venues and organisations. To mention a few, they have performed for the Spirit of Unity Concerts held in Mumbai, Calcutta, Delhi, Chennai etc… Abroad performances include participation in Indian classical, Jazz and Ethno music festivals held at U.S.A., Canada, Australia, U. K., South Africa, Singapore, Malayasia and all over the Europe.

Basavaraj Brothers with their rich & varied music has captured the hearts of the old & the new generations.
This humble duo also are creative music composers. Apart from their classical expertise, they have made a mark in the international arena doing numerous recordings for Indian Classical Dance. This includes many dance Indian forms like kuchipudi, kathak, bharatnatyam and odissi to name a few.
